Anatomy of a Cigar
Cap
The cap of a cigar serves as the tobacco piece applied to the head, ensuring the wrapper remains intact. When commencing the cigar ritual, the cap is the segment you'll cut.
Body
The Body constitutes the primary portion of the cigar, situated between the Head and Foot. Comprising three key layers - Filler, Binder, and Wrapper, it defines the essence of each cigar.
Foot
The Foot signifies the end of the cigar destined for lighting.
Filler
The Filler encompasses the innermost tobacco leaves, forming the core blend of the cigar.
Binder
Acting as its namesake, the Binder securely binds the filler tobacco, positioned between the filler and wrapper. Following its application, the cigar undergoes shaping before the wrapper is added.
Wrapper
The Wrapper forms the exterior of the cigar, crafted from top-grade tobacco. While subject to debate, I contend that the wrapper leaf largely influences a cigar's flavor profile.
